Reverberaciones

By DANIEL ROBLES

Two Leopard slugs hang down from a string of mucus ~ entwining each other's bodies in an acrobatic performance. Their sexual organs come out from the back of their heads and two beautiful blue translucent appendages spiral in a helix to exchange fluids.

Reverberaciones hybridizes this astonishing mating ritual with puppetry as an exploration of alternative modes of interaction through prostheses. What happens when a prosthetic fails its’ function and in the process of failure, becomes a performative extension of self? Reverberaciones extends the prosthetic beyond its’ use-function, into the realm of play and improvisation- proposing new ways for bodies to entangle.

Separated by a veil, the performers turn towards somatic and sonic cues.
